Project

Remonda drives the transformation of organic waste into resources for the community, through local and sustainable solutions. The project has evolved from the desire to tackle current climate and economic challenges to becoming a start-up with environmental and social impact.

The journey of Remonda began in 2021 when its founders and their shared concerns met at Climathon Sevilla, an event that promotes solutions to climate challenges among multidisciplinary teams.

Since then, the idea has gradually become a reality thanks to participation in programs like the incubator CartujaQanat and winning awards from institutions such as the Pablo de Olavide University or the Euroregion Alentejo-Algarve-Andalusia. The exchange and support received from the community through talks and workshops has always been key in the continuous improvement of our biomaterials.

Remonda is also part of the EIT Food (European Institute of Technology) and the New European Bauhaus community, having participated in 2022 in the NEB Ideation Awards and the NEB MakerSpaces consumer prototyping and testing program. More recently, in 2024, Remonda was one of the 28 European startups selected to participate in the NEB Catalyse Program, supported by the European Union. This latest program has been key to increasing the project’s success capacity, allowing investment in machinery, physical space, analytical tests, and improvement of the material used to make the products that are for sale on our website.
